John Brunner on the Issues: Defense

Posted on February 6, 2012 by John Brunner — No Comments ↓

The defense of our liberty and preservation of our freedoms by our Armed Forces is the single most important function of the federal government.

I was proud to serve our nation as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, where I pledged to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic. When the decision to engage our Armed Forces is made by the U.S. Congress, it should only be done with a clear mission and a clear definition of victory. All our volunteer fighting force deserves the finest equipment, technology, training, and medical care, and we should always give our brave men and women all the resources they need.
